Windows Tweaker
Check out the free tweaking program called 'x-setup'. It allows beginners to change many settings on their Windows (95,98,NT,2000) machine without going into the registry. It has many options and is easy to use. You can find it here:

Save those ASF files
Here is a program that lets you download Streaming Windows Media. Ever wanted to d/l a video, but couldn't because it was ASF format? Now you can with ASFRECORDER.

RegCleaner
Regcleaner is a free program that allows you to get rid of pieces of programs you have deleted but are still cluttering your registry. Super easy to use:

LiveUpdate
This is a great service from Norton [Symantec] that recently became free. Liveupdate Pro detects the hardware and software on your computer, then tells you if there is newer version drivers or patches available. It will also install them automatically if you want:
